In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, RCM Technologies assisted a Houston, TX area Industrial Plant that was heavily impacted.

Engineering and design of a 2100 HP, 3-Cylinder, Dual Gas, Reciprocating Compressor replacement was a 2,000 man-hour multi-disciplined effort, involving RCM’s Civil/Structural, Mechanical/Piping, and Electrical groups.

Civil/Structural Scope of Work included AutoCAD Plant 3D modeling and drawings for foundations, structural steel, anchorage, and grouting. Mechanical/Piping deliverables focused on above ground piping and encompassed 40+ spools. Electrical Scope of Work consisted of an above ground electrical package, including cable tray, lighting, networking, and control room connections. Use of laser scanning and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) technology tools presented the design basis for existing site conditions above ground and underground respectively.

Site visits before, during, and after completion of detailed design, and during construction were essential. Frequent communication and coordination with the client was vital since site areas adjacent to the compressor were also being revamped simultaneously.
